Joey Vincennie (he/him) is an art librarian and art historian living in Brooklyn, New York (Lenapehoking). He currently holds the position of Reference Lead Librarian at the Frick Art Research Library. He holds an MSLIS/MA in History of Art and Design from Pratt Institute as well as a BA in Art History from New College of Florida.
He has previously held positions at Pratt Institute, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Joey's art historical research explores the interplay between art, activism, and the public sphere in New York City from the 1960s onward. His research in art librarianship focuses on artists' books and art book fairs, and how they relate to access and collection development/management.
